They called the Pacific NW home, their nest was not too far from the ocean, lakes, and snowy mountaintops. They met in collage while attending class, got married almost 12 years ago in a courthouse wedding and began their life journey together building their family while traveling all around the world.
John is a U.S. Marine and they have seen and experienced many different things and exciting places.
They are now on their final journey overseas where John is stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, but before they left they wanted to celebrate their marriage with their family and have a ceremony at the Portland LDS Temple. I had the honor of photographing their special day at this serine and beautiful venue. It was a bright and sunny day, the six spires of the marble-clad temple was rising elegantly among the towering Douglas-fir trees, nothing short of perfection.
It was a true honor being a part of your special day, and I look forward to seeing your photos from your adventures overseas!
He’s from SoCal, she’s from Minnesota. They met on a perfect California Day. California has proven to be one of their favorite places to be, but so has the Pacific Northwest, which is where they now live! It’s a small place in their lives that represents peace and joy. They adore all the outdoors that the PNW has to offer, and they love spending time with their adorable 11 year old doggies, Haley an Maddie!
On days like Amy and Doug’s engagement session, I feel incredibly lucky to live in the Pacific Northwest…the trees feel like a breath of fresh air and working with such amazing clients is icing on the cake!
What better way to celebrate engagement photos then a picnic in the park! Doug was so sweet and he surprised Amy with fresh roses, and some PNW drinks and eats!
Amy and Doug share a special love and it was exciting to watch their relationship unfold in front of my camera…
I love engagement sessions, and the magic of Laurelhurst made the day nothing short of amazing!
A few months ago I received an email from Stacey wanting to schedule her family’s photo session for this fall! We put a date on the calendar, but being this is Oregon and it rains quite often, we ended up needing to reschedule. A week later we met at Wilsonville Memorial Park at Stein-Boozier Barn, which is a rustic barn built in 1901! What! This is a beautiful place, not only does it include significant natural areas with extensive trails, but also a large playground! On our day it wasn’t raining, it wasn’t cold, and the fall colors were vibrant and beautiful! It was perfect! I love photographing families, and this family was such a breeze to photograph…just look at these little cuties!
